?In all, 35 colleges and universities from across the country and two teams from Sri Lanka will battle it out for top? honours at Vagus Vie 2012 , the 13th edition of the all-India sports fest being conducted by Jain University and starting on Sunday.
Some 800 outstation and 1200 local players will feature in 11 events to be held at various venues across the City until January 11. Some of India’s top colleges including Loyola College (Chennai) will be a part of the slugfest.
Competitions will be held for men and women in cricket, athletics, swimming, tennis, table tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball, hockey, football and softball.?
Central College, HAL and Reva grounds will host the men’s cricket matches while Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex will be the venue for the women’s matches.
Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex will also be the destination for football, softball, volleyball, badminton, TT, tennis and women’s basketball. Athletics will be held at the Sree Kanteerava stadium, swimming at the St Joseph’s Indian High School pool and hockey at the KSHA stadium. Madhavan Park will play host to the men’s basketball games.
